In January 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the National Health Commission, and the National Medical Products Administration jointly issued the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Green Development of the Raw Material Medicine Industry," which clearly states the need to adjust the industrial structure, optimize industrial layout, accelerate technological innovation and application, and promote green production standards.
Among them, the opinions require key attention to adjusting the industrial structure. It encourages optimizing the allocation of industrial resources, promoting green production technology transformation, increasing the proportion of green products in bulk raw materials, accelerating the development of specialty raw materials and high-end customized raw materials, and eliminating backward technologies and products in accordance with the law and regulations. It aims to improve the entry standards for the raw material medicine industry, strictly enforce quality, environmental protection, and hygiene standards, strengthen market competition mechanisms and reverse pressure mechanisms, reduce low-level duplication, and gradually improve the concentration and scale of production in the raw material medicine industry.
